Knowledge of 8th and 9th grade elementary school students about reproductive health
CHRSTOŠOVÁ, Vlasta
The Bachelor thesis entitled Knowledge of pupils in 8th and 9th grades in primary schools about reproductive health focuses on the level of awareness of pupils aged 13 -16 about the issues of menstruation, safe sex, contraception, pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. The theoretical part of the bachelor's thesis describes health and its division into reproductive and sexual. It also describes the reproductive organs of women and men, menstrual periods and menstrual devices, sexual intercourse, and the possibilities offemale and male contraception, as adolescents need to know how to protect themselves from unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases. There are therefore individual chapters devoted precisely to sexually accurate diseases, pregnancy and abortion. The final chapter deals with the education of pupils on reproductive health issues and the role of midwives in the educational process. In the research part of the bachelor s thesis, a quantitative method was chosen as the method of research investigation. The data was collected through a questionnaire distributed to respondents on the social networking site Facebook. The questionnaire consisted of 36 questions, of which 23 were closed, 12 were semi-closed and 1 was open. The data obtained was processed and evaluated using Microsoft Excel and SPSS computer programs. Graphs showing the responses of boys and girls in the 8th and 9th grades of primary schools have been produced for each question. The research pool consisted of 101 respondents. Of the 8th grade, a total of 36 respondents were 7 boys and 29 girls. Of the 9th grade, a total of 65 respondents were 13 boys and 52 girls. The aim of this work was to find out what boys and girls of the 8th and 9th grades had knowledge about reproductive health, i.e. menstruation, safe sex, contraception, pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. 3 hypotheses have been established for the research part. The first hypothesis was to determine whether girls in 8th grade had greater knowledge of reproductive health than boys in the same year. This hypothesis has been disproved. The second hypothesiswas to determine whether girls in the 9th grade had greater knowledge of reproductive health than boys in the same year. The second hypothesis was disproved. The third hypothesis looked at whether 9th graders had greater knowledge of reproductive health than 8th graders. This hypothesis has been confirmed.
The positive effect of sex on our health
VYDROVÁ, Anna
The aim of this study is to shed light on important concepts that are often neglected or underestimated in today's society, to map the area of sexual behaviour, to find out how can sex positively influence our body and mind, what habits our society has, what history tells us about sex. The extensive topic of sexuality is slightly controversial, it is all the more interesting that relatively little attention is paid to it on a social and professional level although it is an integral part of us. The literature of the history of sexual activity is full of "skeletons in the closet" and reveals countless surprises, complexes, injustices and unhealed wounds. This work compares this information with reality and current sources. Another part is devoted to the constantly and currently much-discussed topic of battle men versus women. We will also reveal differences that are unrecognizable at first glance. By describing the body, behaviour and social status, we find out that they have undergone a really long development. However, the intention is not to promote one sex above the other, nor to set imaginary boundaries between them. On the contrary, the work aims at concluding a peace agreement and expressing the equal importance of both men and women on the principle of mutual respect. Finally, in the practical part compiled in the form of a questionnaire, I specified the actions, thinking and awareness of young people about human sexuality and its relationship to health. The benefit is current information from the lives of students and their peers. As I dare say that sex education is unfortunately very neglected and underestimated at the moment, any new useful information for readers would be my relief and immense personal success.
Adolescents knowledge about sexually transmitted diseases
Dudová, Dominika ; Thorovská, Alena (advisor) ; Váchová, Alena (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with knowledge of adolescents about the prevention and transmission of sexually transmitted diseases. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with adolescence, the medical field of venerology and veneral diseases. The aim was to examine the knowledge of chosen high school students. Then to compare whether it differs according to the region where the studied school is located or according to the type of school studied. Furthermore, evaluate the assumptions. The quantitative method was chosen as the research method, and a questionnaire was designed for the survey itself, which was sent to the respondents online. It contained 26 questions, open, closed and semi-open, that focused on the prevention and transmission of sexually transmitted diseases and education in high school. After evaluating all the answers from the research, it shows that the majority of students in chosen high school know how sexually transmitted diseases are transmitted and also how to prevent them. It was also discovered that the region in which the selected school is located does not play a role in the difference in knowledge, but the type of school studied does. It was found that most students know about sexually transmitted diseases from the internet. Respondents agree with the teaching of sexually...
Criminal and criminological aspects of the criminal offence of rape
Josef, Filip ; Gřivna, Tomáš (advisor) ; Tlapák Navrátilová, Jana (referee) ; Stibořík, Vladimír (referee)
Even though it may not seem like it at first glance, the phenomenon of rape conceals in fact much more than anyone who has ever faced this problem we are dealing with could say about it. Worse, it is these people, the vast majority of them men, where the tendency is to downplay this crime and, under the influence of ignorance and myths associated with rape or even religion and ideology, often see it as made up by the victims or as completely removed from the intentions of the offender. And because the aim of this work is not only to provide a view of rape in terms of criminal law, but also from a criminological, i.e. view of a number of other scientific disciplines, that this is indeed the case, that rape cannot be seen in this manner, this is also - and no less important - the task of this work. The fundamental part of this work, as a work looking at the issue addressed especially in terms of criminal law, and its main investigative contribution provide not only an analysis of the various elements of the crime of rape, but primarily an attempt within it to completely categorize all hitherto considered and neglected forms of sexual behavior within individual - prescribed by law - forms of sexual intercourse. The same is true then and the main investigative contribution of this work can be...
Reading Nabokov's Humbert Humbert through historical and socio-cultural prism
Rybchinskaya, Svetlana ; Ženíšek, Jakub (advisor) ; Topolovská, Tereza (referee)
The scholarly appraisal of Nabokov's Humbert Humbert generally sees him as a very intriguing yet morally flawed character. It is therefore interesting to see his depraved views and sexual tendencies within the context of how people have historically thought about female nubility and maturity. The thesis does not seek to de-stigmatise paedophilia, yet it aims at providing some historical framework towards understanding (1) why the widely embraced cultural relativism does not exonerate paedophilia and (2) how some historically- grounded attitudes of humankind towards female maturity align with Humbert Humbert's tendencies. Key words: child marriages; paedophilia; nubility; female maturity; Lolita; age of consent; child sexual abuse; childhood; sexual intercourse; Abstrakt Vědecké posouzení postavy Humberta Humberta z románu Nabokova "Lolita" ho zpravidla popisuje jako postavu poutavou a přesto mravně vadnou.
The Sexual Activity in Adolescence as a Passage Ritual to the Social Adulthood
Petrášek, Michal ; Skupnik, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Ulrychová, Marta (referee) ; Vrhel, František (referee)
ENGLISH ABSTRACT This thesis deals with sexual behavior of young people from fifteen till twenty-five years in the Czech Republic. Their activities are evaluated and interpreted from anthropological perspective of passage rituals. The official passage rituals of adulthood were eliminated in the western society and one universal passage ritual was crumbled in inexhaustible assemblage of particular unofficial hazy and often unclear ritual actions. This transformation begins because the man is according to Mary Douglas a ritual animal and the ritual suppressed in one form appears in another on even stronger. In this large assemblage of passage rituals of adulthood we can include for example dancing courses, school- leaving examination, gaining of the driving licence, smoking, drinking alcohol or just sexual activity. In the period of adolescence we can mark this activity as ritual because it has not the clear utilitarian procreative aim. This work presents original field research which bears on two main pillars: 1. on the quantitative questionnaire investigation and 2. on qualitative questionnaire investigation. The quantitative research was made in the secondary schools in Pilsen region and its main part count one hundred-eighty eight respondents. The research was going on during the year 2008 - 2009. The...
Sexual Behavior of Adolescents in the Context of Health and Social Issues
KUBIŠTOVÁ, Tereza
The theme of this thesis is the sexual behaviour of adolescents in the context of health and social issues and the aim of this thesis is to explore this behaviour. Today it is proven that tolerant standards of adults shape the attitudes of young people. Therefore, the work will focus on clarifying opinions and viewpoints of juvenile sex life. The research involved a total of 40 respondents, who were selected by random selection principle from secondary schools in České Budějovice. The research sample was divided according to gender quota to 20 girls and 20 boys aged 17 years. The data were processed by statistical analysis and nonparametric methods, namely the Mann-Whitney test and the chi-square test, were used for hypothesis testing. The main aim of this thesis was to explore the characteristics and consequences of sexual behaviour of adolescents in secondary schools in České Budějovice. On the basis of the goals three hypotheses were set: hypothesis no. 1 "The boys start sexual life earlier than girls", hypothesis no. 2 "Girls pay attention to protected sexual intercourse more than boys" and the hypothesis no. 3 "Students who think that the sex education (discussions on sexual topics) in primary schools has meaning start sexual life later". This thesis could be used by social workers in social work with minors. It could be used also by curators for work with the young. Finally, it could be used to educate children in primary schools, particularly in the subjects of sexual education or health education.
Woman´s sexuality during pregnancy and after delivery
ODLOŽILÍKOVÁ, Markéta
This presented Bachelor thesis deals with the sexuality of women during pregnancy and after childbirth. Given the focus of this thesis period of pregnancy, parturition, puerperium and the associated sexuality is described in the theoretic part. Furthermore, the thesis deals with the role of midwives in the area of women sexuality during pregnancy and after childbirth. In total, there were defined three objectives. The first one was to find out, if women are apprised about sexual life in pregnancy period. The second one, if women are apprised about issues of sexuality after childbirth. And the third one, how women are apprised about the sexual life during pregnancy and after childbirth at all. The research was conducted with women in their homes during the month of February 2016. For realization of this research was used qualitative survey. Data collection was conducted through interviews with the women that were to one year after birthchild. The research sample consisted of eight women. The interviews were carried out after previous agreement and permission of these women. The interview contained 10 open-ended questions, in cases of need some additional questions were asked. Then the interviews were transcribed verbatim. The analysis was conducted by the hand coding method paper and pen. Each reponses were identified by specific codes that were subsequently classified under various categories. From the research resulted the fact that all interviewed women were apprised sufficiently about sexuality in pregnancy period. But responses about the way of getting information are diverse. Thanks to this research was found that women most often seek for information about sexuality in pregnancy period on the internet. Most women have a problem asking questions relating to this intimate area. That's why the most of them prefer to seek information from anonymous discussions. That primarily pointed out the need for increased awareness of women by midwives. However, not all women are searching for information. From the research resulted the fact that most of the women trust in their own body and anticipation especially and therefore they are not interested in receiving any other information. The investigation was to find out if women have need for sex. Most of the answers were affirmative. What is more, majority of the women mentioned that their need for sex got higher then before the pregnancy. The investigation pointed out that women are informed about issues of sexuality after the delivery mainly from midwives at childbed stations. According to all enquired ones all obtained information were sufficient. But what is more some of the women mentioned again that they do not seek for any information in this field because they follow their own bodies more than other people´s advice. Further questions were related to women sexual satisfaction after giving birth and whether they suffer from any physical or mental consequences caused by that. The results brought out that most of the interviewed ones started their sexual activities already during the time of childbed due to desire for lovemaking. On the other side their sexual desire markedly decreased in comperison with the pregnancy time. The results proved that they are well aware of sexual issues during pregnancy period but not due to midwives. It would be advisable to include this topic in general information that women receive particulary from midwives because this research proved that women in general would like to know more but they are ashamed to ask. As all information about sex after childbirth are received from midwives at childbed stations, women do not feel like seeking for more information on internet as they mention that the obtained information from midwives were sufficient.
The Issue of Contraception and Reproductive Health Care among Young People
BŘEZKOVÁ, Markéta
The dissertation is focused on the issue of contraception and reproductive health of young people. I therefore chose this topic of my dissertation because it interests me and it is also very current topic. I have specified the research in various types of secondary schools in Cesky Krumlov. The main aim of my dissertation was to map the knowledge of hormonal contraception and proven possible differences in sexual self behaviour in adolescent girls attending different high schools in Cesky Krumlov. The research was conducted using anonymous questionnaires that were distributed to girls aged 17 to 19 years. For my dissertation, I set four hypotheses that have been statistically confirmed. The results were interesting and there had been statistically significant differences in the level of knowledge about the risks of hormonal contraception among female students of Secondary Schools and other female students of Health Secondary Schools. In addition, the Vocational School students begin sexual life before other students of Secondary schools. Also the most common method of protection at first sexual intercourse is condom, but the most preferred contraceptives in adolescent girls, regardless of the type school studied, is hormonal contraception. According to the responses of girls we can see the differences in their own sexual behaviour, which is, in most cases conscientiously. Girls, however, are not sufficiently informed about hormonal contraception they use. I would advise to bring more lectures into schools about the positives and risks of hormonal contraception in general and also about all contraceptive options.
